John M. Hendrickson

John has served in his current role as President, Midwest at Brixmor Property Group since August 2018. He is responsible for overseeing the development and execution of long-term business plans for an open-air center portfolio in Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, West Virginia and Wisconsin.

He describes Brixmor as a service-oriented company. “It’s all about the team and a culture of personal ownership. It’s a group of collaborative entrepreneurs, close to the ground, driving value. And the best way to drive value is to serve our tenants,” John adds. “This is a very local business. It requires empowerment in the field so that we can create that unique sense of community in each of our centers.”

Prior to joining Brixmor, John served as Chief Operating Officer for RAMCO Properties Trust from 2015 to 2018. He held senior real estate and investment positions at Federal Realty Trust, including Manager Director Mixed-Use Division, and Northeast Region Chief Operating Officer, from 1998 to 2015.

John holds a B.B.A. from George Washington University and lives in Chicago with his wife, two kids and a dog. He is active in ICSC and a member of the Urban Land Institute.
